About a time when you were judged unfairly.

 Prompt Response: One time I was treated unfairly was when I was in elementary and the teacher kept treating me a certain unfair way because I was Hispanic so she assumed I could only speak Spanish and would say some rude things thinking I didn't understand. I found that very disrespectful and unfair how I sometimes couldn't do things others did because she didn't think I knew what to do. 

Summary: That treatment was unfair especially when she knew I did speak English and even spoke fluently to her many times. Teachers and people in general should stop assuming things until they talk to people personally because its rude to assume people are automatically dumb just for not understanding the language you know, 

Reflection: Assuming is not good for anyone and shouldn't reflect on the way you treat someone or make them feel dumb for not "understanding" what you know.

Describe a time when you felt completely lost.

  Prompt Response:  One time I felt lost was when I lost my best friend. He recently left due to a discussion we had and is now gone from my life. The person I talked to day and night and did my everyday schedule with is now gone.  Summary: I am somewhat relieved that we are apart because I am now working on myself and focusing more on myself but that did affect me a lot. It's hard when someone that was a big part of your life leaves your life and it causes you to feel confused, lost, and upset. I couldn't eat for a couple weeks right and I couldn't sleep either out of that gut feeling and emptiness.  Reflection:  I am now somewhat okay but I still look for him in everyone I talk to, I am happy that we are out of each other's lives to let each other heal and grow in life. I hope everything is okay for him and much more. I am also growing and figuring out stuff I didn't even know about myself! Lots of improvements and achievements I have discovered in myself.

It’s Homecoming Week! 🎉 What do you love most about being part of the Lakeside community? How do you show off your school spirit? What is your favorite Homecoming tradition or event?

  Prompt Response:  The thing I love most about being part of the Lakeside Community is the cheerful spirit of the teachers and students. They always encourage others to participate in activities such as homecoming the football games and as such.  Summary: My favorite events are spirit weeks seeing how people dress up is so fascinating to me. People are so creative with their outfits and I love seeing them. I like participating in them too! Reflection:  I love being part of this community and seeing every creative spirit and being able to experience it too. All of that spirit and joy that flows in the air as a community.

Imagine you are learning about Hispanic/Latino heritage for the very first time. What would you be curious to know about the traditions, foods, music, or celebrations?

  Prompt Response:  If I was experiencing and learning about Hispanic/Latino heritage for the first time. I would be curious about how they express their culture thought the way they dress. The way they dress is typically very colorful and I always find it fascinating. I would also be curious about how they create such loud but creative rhythms in their music.  Summary: The Hispanic/Latino culture is something fascinating and the music, food, traditions and customs is always a great way to identify what cultures people are from and I love how colorful and creative they are with it. Reflection:  The Hispanic/Latino culture is very creative in many ways and the way they express and show it is always fascinating.
