Describe something you will never fully understand

Prompt Response:  Something I will never fully understand is how people can be so rude to each other for no reason or without knowing that person. I think its very dumb for people to just insult random people for no reason for their own laugh and jokes. What is so funny about saying profanity or rude stuff to people? Summary: Some people think being rude and disrespectful is funny or cool. I don't see the purpose of doing this and affecting the person being told such stuff. What does the person saying those stuff gain from it at all? Reflection:  I personally think those types of people are disrespectful, not educated, and horrible people. There is no reason to be rude and it's not funny to insult someone.

Most creative thing i've made

Prompt Response:  The most creative thing i've made was a jean purse. It was a purse made out of jean material. I was no longer gonna use those jeans and so I thought to reuse them and make them into something cute.  Summary: The jean purse was the best to me, I would use it and take it everywhere because I made it quite spacious and with lots of pockets too. It would also match most of my outfits which was another good thing about it. Reflection:  I would definitely make it again but even better than how I originally did. It was one of my best crafts that I have done so far.

Something I wish I had more of

Prompt Response:  I wished I had more money. Everything In this life and economy is money, Without money you can't get an education, living place, food, clothes, and much more. Summary: I want to be able to repay my parents everything they have wasted on me. I wanna be able to provide for them and sustain them and give them the peace they need. I don't want them to keep working themselves to just end up dying and all that hard working money to be useless afterwards.  Reflection:  That is why I wish I had more money because without It there's isn't much to do in life without it.

Burning questions about Life

Prompt Response:  One of the burning questions i've had about life is if my life really mines or is it something controlled by the government? Everything we do is somehow controlled by the government and even if one of us tried to do something out of the ordinary then we might go missing like how some people do when they create something good for the everyday life or something so impressive. Summary: Is my life all mine and am I able to do something without having to work for them and provide taxes and stuff?? Everything we do is just for them if you think about it.  Reflection:  That question has always been on my mind, even if I do control it and freestyle life;will I be okay afterwards or am I gonna have to fear for my life if I don't do what is normalized.

Describe a time when you felt completely lost.

Prompt Response:  One time I felt lost was when I lost my best friend. He recently left due to a discussion we had and is now gone from my life. The person I talked to day and night and did my everyday schedule with is now gone.  Summary: I am somewhat relieved that we are apart because I am now working on myself and focusing more on myself but that did affect me a lot. It's hard when someone that was a big part of your life leaves your life and it causes you to feel confused, lost, and upset. I couldn't eat for a couple weeks right and I couldn't sleep either out of that gut feeling and emptiness.  Reflection:  I am now somewhat okay but I still look for him in everyone I talk to, I am happy that we are out of each other's lives to let each other heal and grow in life. I hope everything is okay for him and much more. I am also growing and figuring out stuff I didn't even know about myself! Lots of improvements and achievements I have discovered in myself.

Adapting to demands over the past week

Prompt Response:   I have adapted to the demands of this course over the past week. One of the strengths I have received so far is the skills of writing that I have to do for these blogs.  One of the challenges i've had so far is that I sometimes don't understand the instructions if I don't see an example of how it should be which confuses me a bit.  Summary: These demands help a lot when you put a lot of effort into it. I like how we are doing a lot of activities because it is such a fun way to make learning and activities memorable to the information and way more.  Reflection: I am grateful to be learning these skills, challenges and much more to come because without them I wouldn't be learning as much as I am right now and which these skills and education I am recieving I can later on use in the real world.

Describe how gender roles or patriarchy influence your identity?

Prompt Response: Gender roles influence my identity a lot because as a growing young lady a lot of people expect you to know how to cook, sew, clean and much more.   Summary: Gender roles and patriarchy are often normalized because people often assume "oh a man works and the woman stays and cleans and cooks at home." It is very common for people to assume that's how it always works. Men often don't get pushed by their parents to clean and know how to cook as often as women/young ladies do growing up. Which is seen as equality by many people. Reflection:  I often do see these equalities in my every day life. I personally see guys have more freedom than girls do. Meanwhile girls often get pushed by their parents to know how to cook so they get seen as "useful" for their future partner or in life.

Reflect on how your cultural heritage shapes your daily expectations, inspired by "Girl" by Jamaica Kincaid.

Prompt Response:  My cultural heritage shapes my daily expectations a lot. As a Mexican woman, I am expected to know how to cook and clean or else no one will want me as a woman.  Summary: In "Girl" by Jamaica Kincaid, it is a passage written as a mother telling her daughter instructions on what to do and how to behave. Often repeating how she shouldn't shape herself into a "slut". Reflection:  This made me reflect on how parents or guardians often remind us on how to behave, how to do things, and what to do in certain situations.
