Prompt: Write about a time you didn’t feel like yourself.

One time I didn´t feel myself when too many changes were happening in my life too quickly. I don´t remember what exactly was happening at the moment, it was too much. I do remember how I felt. I felt lost, confused, frustrated, and upset. I didn´t know what to do nor why those things were happening. Those emotions all together made me feel like I wasn´t myself or like if I didn´t know who I was at the moment.

Prompt: Describe a place where you feel the most at peace and explain why.

A place I feel the most at peace is in the shower. I ´ m not quite sure why but I would say it might be because it's just me and my thoughts while hearing the water running while I'm in there. I like how quiet it is and how I can hear my thoughts more clearly. Being able to do whatever in there without someone seeing or judging you in a way.

In Wild, Cheryl Strayed writes about the difference between deciding to do something and actually committing to it: “There was the first, flip decision to do it, followed by the second, more serious decision to actually do it.” Reflect on a time in your own life when you made a quick or casual decision that later required a deeper commitment. Describe what changed between the first decision and the moment you realized you truly had to follow through. What fears, challenges, or responsibilities became real once the decision was no longer just an idea?

One time in my life that I had to make a quick decision that required a deep commitment was studying for my permit a day before with no warning but being told I had to go take it the next day. At first I really was just gonna go to just do it without preparation but after seeing I do need it so I can be independent and not rely on anyone;I started memorizing every answer and went to go take it. I was nervous and so scared to disappoint my family if I did fail it. I passed it at the end so It was all worth it.

Prompt: As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

What I enjoyed most about this class was when we would just read and write papers;I disliked the presenting in front of the class. The project that was most engaging was the story-map and the Presenting ourselves, I figured out a lot of common things I had with some peers. I got to make a friend in this class, that ´ s such an exciting thing for me. One aspect I connected with the most was the poem about Why I want a Wife by Judy Brady. I felt most connected to it because in some aspects women were treated horrible in other aspects and that they were only meant and good for the kitchen and home duties. I never liked the idea of that. In a way, that poem shows how much you should value the women in your life. Finally, one area I need to improve on is presenting and socializing more in this class so that this class isn´t as difficult and threatening to me as is.
