Creating a video is more than just placing pictures together—it’s about capturing a feeling. Explain how you tried to bring your assigned letter to life in your Adobe Express video. What mood were you aiming for, and how did your editing choices help you communicate the message or emotion of the letter?

The mood I was aiming for in this video was a sad stressing tone. What Celie went through should be matched to the mood of the music and such. I think my editing choice helped communicate that by making the person sort of anxious with how slow it was going because she suffered years and those tiny anxious minutes give off how she felt all those years. The music also showed how sad her life is.

Prompt: After reading the first five letters of The Color Purple, reflect on your own thoughts and emotions as you experienced Celie's early voice and struggles.

Prompt Response:  After reading the first five letters, I saw Celie's struggles on how she got raped and abused at such a early age. How she had to endure all that for the safety of her mom and sister.  Summary: What was done to Celie shouldn't have been done no matter how desperate the father was, the mother should've instigated more if she might've suspected it. All of that could've been prevented or at least found out about.  Reflection:  This made me feel bad and a bit uncomfortable thinking of how so many people may have experienced this and they haven't spoken about it or realized how wrong it was till later on. Or how some people are experiencing it now and can't save themselves. That's so upsetting and unfair and no one should experience that.
